some quotes about disability

 Bill Clinton-
"New information and communications technologies can improve the quality of life for  people with disabilities, but only if such technologies are designed from the beginning so that everyone can use them".

Georgiann Baldino-
"We all have a disability of some kind; all are lacking in one way or another. Saul has an injury to his leg. What if his personality was deformed? How much worse if his soul was lame? Preachers or teachers look for the good in all of us. (Bless them for doing so.) I don't see a cripple. I haven't met anyone yet who isn't handicapped in some way. So what's the big deal? Don't hide your deformity. Wear it like a Purple Heart."

Martina Navratilova-
“Disability is a matter of perception. If you can do just one thing well, you're needed by someone.”

Lawrence Bixby-
"Each handicap is like a hurdle in a steeplechase, and when you ride up to it, if you throw your heart over, the horse will go along, too."

Scott Hamilton-
"The only disability in life is a bad attitude. "

Neil Marcus-
"“Disability is not a brave struggle or ‘courage in the face of adversity.’ Disability is an art. It’s an ingenious way to live.”

Robert M. Hensel-
"We, the one's who are challenged, need to be heard. To be seen not as a disability, but as a person who has, and will continue to bloom. To be seen not only as a handicap, but as a well intact human being".

Mary McAleese-
"People with disabilities have abilities too and this is what this course is all about, making sure that those abilities blossom and shine so that all the dreams you have can come true"

 Winston Churchill-
"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference"

Helen Keller-
"I thank God for my handicaps, for, through them, I have found myself, my work, and my God."

Mark Twain-
"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see."

 Harry Emerson Fosdick-
"Rebellion against your handicaps gets you nowhere. Self-pity gets you nowhere. One must have the adventurous daring to accept oneself as a bundle of possibilities and undertake the most interesting game in the world - making the most of one's best."

 Stevie Wonder-
“Handicaps are really to be used another way to benefit yourself and others.”

 Alexander de Seversky-
"I discovered early that the hardest thing to overcome is not a physical disability but the mental condition which it induces. The world, I found, has a way of taking a man pretty much at his own rating. If he permits his loss to make him embarrassed and apologetic, he will draw embarrassment from others. But if he gains his own respect, the respect of those around him comes easily."

Robert M. Hensel-
"I choose not to place "DIS", in my ability."

The role of faith in fighting with disability

soham satya- a 10 years old child, suffering from cerebral palsy , was decleared "the patient with no hope" by the doctors because of his exremely bad condition. His father, a resident of jehanabad( Bihar) rushed to almost every hospital located in state capital Patna but tragically, there was no facility to treat with these type of cases. Mr. satish sharma, a sincere devotee of Gayatri pariwar, took this case as a challenge and he followed the principles as said by-" gurudev shriram sharma Acharya". Later, he taken soham to, NIRTAR, a premier centre for disabled persons.Along with the treatment, he continued his rituals and now, everyone became surprised to see the improvent in the child. The father applied gayatri mantra and I.Q. of the child exceptionally improved. Now, he is a source of inspiration for all disabled childern. His case shows that there are infinite possibilities in our ancient sciences if we apply them in the disability field.

parsuram survived the battle

parsuram rout, 50 years old vendor, undergone accident and lost his right leg. Life became a misery for him because he was so poor to arrange for treatment. He became a subject of sympathy among the relatives and society and his life became limited to his home. When parsuram met me, he was nothing but a reservoir of depression and frustation. It taken a long time for me to win over his trust and when he was provided with the artificial leg, the things taken a  U turn. Now he has a positive vision towards life because he is now able to stand and walk with his own feet.

world bank report about Bihar

I have studied a recent report of world Bank in context to bihar( http://www.worldbank.org.in/ ). As a summary of this report, i have noted some points from the report which are important to know for each citizen of Bihar.

According to world bank, bihar is suffering from following root problems-
1. Persistent poverty
2. complex social stratification
3. Unsatisfactory basic infrastructure
4. corrupt  governance
The above problems are very well known but very less understood which makes the situation very much complex.
Now, What should be the solution of the above problems?
The world bank also provided the solution in its report-
1.Enhance the growth by improving the investment climate. It can be done by maintaining law and order, encouraging industry, investment and spread of technology in rural sector.

2. support human resorce development by proving improved social services e.g. education, health, electricity, food to the people.

3. Develop roads and infrastructure for water control. It will boost the agro-industry which has brilliant potential in bihar.

The above three are the most effective solutions according to the world bank as seems in its more than 100 pages long report.

Now, see what Bihar government is doing to tackle the problems ane acheive the solutions. The present government has done following good works-
1. Developing roads
2. spreaded the technology in rural agricultural sector
3. improved the primary education
4. launched innovative laws e.g. "right to service" for limiting corruption

There is little development in following areas-
1. electricity supply which is essential to develop industries
2. in health sector
3. in water resources management

The fight with the problems will be ,no doubt, continued by every govt. But one thing is certain, If we solve one problem, it will help us in solving other problems.

smile is the true fee

Keshab Das, a polio victim child, was unable to stand and walk like other normal children. His father is extremely poor to arrange for treatment. When the child met me, he questioned- will i be able to play with my friends? This was, indeed, a very tough question for me. I tried hard on his case in several phases and now he is able to stand and walk through the treatment provided at our centre. Now, keshab can fulfil the dream of playing with his friends.
